Northwestern University Summer Program has college scholarships freshman in high school can apply to

Ninth grade students who live in the vicinity of Northwestern University or in the Evanston, Illinois area may wish  to apply for a scholarship that will allow them to attend the summer program sponsored by the university. To qualify for the scholarship, students must have received solid scores on their SAT or ACT tests. Ninth graders must have received at least a score of 470 on their verbal SATs, a minimum 540 on math SATs, at least a 22 on the ACT R and at least a 20 on the ACT M. Students who live in subsidized housing and/or who are in foster care are encouraged to apply for the scholarship.

Prudential Spirit of Community Award

This scholarship program offers an award of between $1,000 and $5,000 to students who have been significantly involved in volunteer work. Applicants must be nominated by their high school and applications should be reviewed by the high school principal. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is November 1.

Exxon Mobil Bernard Harris Math and Science Scholarship

Through this scholarship program four $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to two Latino and two African-American students who have demonstrated an interest in math and science and who also have an interest in pursuing a degree in engineering, technology, science or math. The deadline to apply for these scholarships is April 1st.

American Business Women’s Association Scholarship high school freshman can apply too

Female students who are planning to attend a community college, technical school or four-year university may qualify for this scholarship. The scholarship committee also considers community involvement and financial need. The deadline to apply is early April. The award is worth $1,000.

It’s Always Something Writing Contest college scholarships for high school freshman

This scholarship contest is allows students to submit essays in which they share their personal experiences with cancer. The essay should be between 500 words and 2,000 words. Stories may involve the student’s own experience or an experience related to a friend, loved one or may even be abstract in nature. The scholarship is worth $2,500. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is April 1st.

Association of Computer Professionals in Education college scholarships for high school freshman

The ACPE awards scholarships annually to students in the states or Oregon and Washington who have demonstrated participation and involvement in technology. Students should be actively involved in using technology in an innovative manner and should also have plans to pursue studies in a field related to technology. The scholarship is $2,500. The deadline to apply for this scholarship is late February.

Educational Research Center of America offers college scholarships for high school freshman

The Educational Research Center of America offers college scholarships for high school freshman. ERCA offers at least 25 scholarships each year to deserving students as a way of rewarding those students who have made an outstanding contribution to their school. These awards are not based on financial need. The awards are worth $1,000 each. Applications are accepted beginning in August and the deadline to apply is mid-July.
